Western Washington is famous for coastal waters that produce both Salmon and Steelhead. Eagles, moss, and lots of casting are the common facets of this game.

Winter angling is not for everybody. Standing knee to chest deep in frigid Steelhead runs negotiating slippery rocks in search of a Unicorn.
But, then it happens. Something, a fish maybe, touched the fly.
Then, a slow deep pull.
Wintering in Western Washington is not that bad then…is it.
Richard Raisler lives in Mt. Vernon and loves to swing the spey fly. He has been fishing with 2 handed rods for as long as anyone can remember. the Skagit River is his home river. HE is not afraid to try his luck on other NW Steelhead Rivers either.
